About School Counseling and Guidance

School Counseling and Guidance is a professional process that helps individuals understand themselves, solve their problems, make realistic decisions, develop healthy relationships and thus actualize themselves. Our department aims to contribute to the mental health of future generations by training counselors who are modern, qualified, ethical, and open to development and learning in the field of psychological counseling and guidance.

After graduating from the program, students can work as school counselors in schools and institutions affiliated with the National Education Ministry. In addition, our graduates can work as psychological counselors or pedagogues in different institutions and organizations (e.g., ministry of justice, ministry of family, and social services).

There are five instructors in our department, including one associate professor, two lecturers, and one research assistant. Our department has started to accept students since the 2020-2021 academic year. There are 150 students in the formal education program.  For per year, the quota of the department is 60 students. Also, there is a double major agreement between our department and the primary school teaching program.
